The bookkeeper will oversee the company’s financial data and compliance by recording and maintaining accurate books, daily financial reporting and tracking, and other financial aspects of the business.

Job Title:  Bookkeeper

Location: Onsite, located in Orlando/Windermere, Florida

Responsibilities

  • Record all financial transactions of a business including its expenses, sales, and all cash flow.

  • Ensure the information in financial records matches with the bank and income statements of each company.

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for each company.

  • Responsible for payroll management and overseeing the tax and other deductions of employee salaries.

  • Handle all accounts receivable and accounts payable for each business.

  • Prepare financial statements and reports for different accounting periods.

  • Assist accountants in the preparation and filing of taxes for all companies.

  • Prepare year-end income statements and prepare Forms 1099 and 1096 for each company.

  • Assist with special projects, depending on the needs of the partners and/or staff.

  • Handle all commission payments to contractors and track data in Excel.

Skills

  • Analytical & data skills (must be strong in excel formulas, and/or willing to research how to find correct formulas to use data to solve analytical problems).

  • Strong organizational skills to appropriately store files, and create the most logical directory paths for data on our drives.

  • Possesses an inquisitive nature and doesn't hesitate to ask hard questions to management to better understand the problems, or bring up any possible risks that might have been overlooked in the accounting process. 

  • Values ownership of a project/task and diligently sees it through to completion.  

  • Ability to identify obvious accounting errors, and suggest recommendations to fix them. 

  • Working knowledge of income tax returns and preparation.

  • Working knowledge of the real estate transaction process.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Comfortable dealing with large volumes of complex data.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.

  • Must have 3 or more years of prior bookkeeping experience.

  • Expert with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
