Orlando Home Prices are Up

It’s going to be a great year for Orlando area real estate according to MarketPulse. Orlando’s median home prices finished out the year 22.04% higher than it started in January 2012 with significant median price improvements each month. Orlando’s overall median price put up positive year to year gains for 18 months in a row and has climbed 38.88% since January 2011.  In December there were 2,410 transactions which is up 8.9% coupled with mouth-watering interest rates of only 3.46%!

Piquet and Tavistock Group’s new partnership will explore real estate investment opportunities in Orlando designed to entice Brazilians to purchase second homes and vacation properties in Orlando.

Primrose School of Lake Nona will open their new campus for the upcoming school year. The award-winning school offers educational childcare for six weeks to 5 years old through full-time and part-time classes. Primrose’s Explorers Club is an after-school program designed for ages 5 to 10. PGA Tour player and Lake Nona Golf & Country Club resident Graeme McDowell has partnered with Bistro Concepts to open Nona Blue, an upscale tavern that will occupy a 5,600-square-foot space in Lake Nona Village. The eatery opens this fall and will share the shopping plaza with WineHouse at Lake Nona, a wine bar and restaurant, and Menchie’s, a frozen yogurt shop. Construction of Lake Nona Plaza has started on the corner of Narcoosee Road and Boggy Creek Road with anchor tenant Publix opening around Thanksgiving. Other tenants will include Publix Liquors, Subway and Hangers Cleaners. Panera Bread will open a restaurant on a vacant parcel at Lake Nona Village on Narcoossee Road. The 4,400-square-foot, drive-through cafe is slated to open by the end of the year.
